When do I help hatching, chick pipped 22 hrs ago

I am afraid I only know what to do for an adult chicken with sour crop, and I am not sure what would be safe or sensible to do with a chick. Sorry I can't help more, but thanks for the tag.

Now I think my other chick (formerly healthy) has either sour crop or a ruptured air sac. It has a bulge that feels like it is full of air but also threw up fluid when I massaged and held it upside down. I gave it some water with apple cider vinegar in it…any other advice you can offer?

I have read other byc threads concerning sour crop and removed other food and just have a dish with water and ACV in the incubator. I worry about this chick not having food since it just hatched on Tuesday

Can you post pictures of the chick? Has it pooped?

If it is trying to move, I suggest helping it hatch. It has been 30 hours, that is a long time. The chick may be shrink wrapped, but your chick seems pretty feisty!!! Usually they are very tired after externally pipping.

In the meanwhile it’s 22 days. And TS didn’t respond on the last question for an update.
