When do RIRs begin to lay?

Of my four, only one is laying right now. I can tell that she's more physically developed than the other three, but one is so close I am surprised she is not laying yet. The other two seem to still be small, with short combs and such. Not sure, they're about 7 months old now.

First egg for RIR this morning - Rosie is 24 weeks - I caught her in the nest and the egg was warm when I returned 10 minutes later.

One of the other girls has been laying for a week now - still not sure *who* it is.

Mine all started laying by 24 weeks. They are all still laying almost an egg a day but the eggs are getting pretty small these days.

Are we talking RIRs or Production RIRS?

My girls are 4 months old and I am dying for them to lay me an egg. Hey if I stick an egg from the store in there do you guys think that will make them lay quicker? Who is up for trying this out?

Got my 27 RIR in June and they have been laying since middle of October.... All of them are laying.... Eggs and more EGGS....

The day after I posted earlier, (ie yesterday) I got two eggs. I did today too! Looks like she's finally laying!

The other two non-layers have showed very visible comb growth over the last two days too, so maybe it's almost time for them too! Soon I will have eggs coming out of my ears!

It took me to six months for my RIR girl to lay. The laying picked up from all seven once I started giving them about 2-4 ounces meat and rice or meat & wheat in the morning or evening, with red pepper.
