When do Roosters start to crow?

I have a crowing RIR hen...she lays an egg almost every day.

Well... 'she' isn't laying and at 6 months a SLW really should be... on the other hand the roo's of this breed have a  pretty distinctive tail by 6 months... You should probably post a photo. Full body side view if possible.

I would love to post a picture but I haven't figured out how to. I'm on a cell phone and it won't work. I've tried. He/she/it doesn't have a "rooster tail." It's more like a fluffy poof like my br hens who are even older and still haven't laid an egg yet. The waiting is killing me. It seems like she/he/it is mimicking the rooster rather than actually crowing. It has big waddles and her face is red sometimes but pale at others.

i have a cornish hen rooster and he is almost5 months old and still has not crowed but he sure does make funny sounds...lol...wonder when he will start tcrowing?

My roo started at 3 months . He is a black copper Maron mix.
