When do the pointy saddle feathers start coming in?

I have a 6 week old mix chick I'm watching carefully for signs of roo-ness. I think they molt again, right? Is that when their roo colors and feathers come in? These feathers at 6 weeks are not their adult set, right?

12-14 weeks is when the first male feathers would be popping out from under their young feathers.

is 12-14 weeks true of slower developing birds as well -like brahmas?

you can sadel feather sex most birds by 3/4 mounths some at 2 mounths

I've seen them start to peek through at around 10 weeks old on my Barred Rocks. If you part the back feathers, you may see the pointy, shiny feathers starting to break through at around 9 weeks old on some breeds.

Thank You everyone. I will definitely keep an eye on him and check for those saddle feathers in a month or so. I've never had a roo-baby so I just don't know what to expect. This is good info!
