Does anyone know when free-range Guineas stop nesting for the year? I live in SE Ohio.

This year, I've found all their nests but right now I have 2 that are a mystery. I know that they haven't been laying eggs for long.

Will a hen just "Give Up" even though she has eggs in the nest in cold weather? Or will she keep going and brood until I take the eggs away?

Thanks for all your advise!

Here in Wyoming my hens are slowing down on laying now. I think most of the older ones have already quit laying. I've had them go broody in early September but I don't let them sit on eggs that late in the year. In SE Ohio they may lay until the end of September and possibly go broody. Once they go broody they will probably stay on the nest no matter what the weather. But the keets will have a hard time surviving if the weather is cold. The weather usually isn't bad in your area until late in October tho so it's possible they could make it.

Yikes Red! Looks like I'll have to go on an Easter Egg Hunt! :-o

I don't care about the eggs. I've incubated more then I can count this year. I'm more worried about loosing a hen to a predator.

Thanks for the info. I really appreciated it.
