When do you start lockdown with bantam eggs?

Yay it was chirping! It's such a sweet little chirp

ok I checked and separated the eggs that looked close to ibternally pipped so I could watch them. There are 7. The other 9 didn't have shadows in the cell yet but could see movement. I checked the one pictured about and it was chirping. So how long from chirping to exterior pipping usually? I can't remember! And how long should I wait if they don't pip? When do they usually run out of air in there? Ahhhhh

Ok I was worried for nothing we indeed have a external pip! I had checked it an hour before. So I know it just happened. And it's a double pip so must be a strong little guy. Hope I can sleep tonight

One pipped at 11 pm and 1 am. Then 3 more between 6-7 am. The first pip is about 12 hours now and no progress. Should I wait to make the pip hole bigger?

Congrats! Finally some action! I wait until 18 hours before I check on them, then it's only to widen the pip to make sure position looks right then I replace them and give them until 24 hours to actually start an assist. Chances are even then I don't need to, but I do.

I've never done this many eggs so if they are going to pip should they within 24 hrs of the first pip?
A good majority usually do, but never count on it. My last hatch I had my first pipper late day 18 and my last pipper early day 21. My late day 18 pipper took almost a full 24 hours to hatch, so it was day 19, but my day 21 pippers (there were 3) hatched within hours of pip. Overall from first hatch to last it was about 48 hours.

We have a chick! So he pipped and hatched day 19. No new pips and the other 4 haven't progressed yet. I'm not sure if he has straddle legs yet. But he can't really walk. He's only an hour old though. His toes are curled but that can fix itself do I am waiting on that. Since it has feathered legs it's either half or full Silkie or half frizzle

We've got 4 hatched and 5 pipped. All have pipped in the right place but this once concerns me. I took it out and it is pipped what looks under the air cell with the veins but it is chirping from the egg so I'm confused. Could they chirp like this? I'm worried its twins or something bc there was one with what looked like 2 yolks that I never found again
