When Do Yours Start Laying Eggs?

I am curious to know when do your girls start laying eggs. Mine start in late December. I will begin preparing their area for production.

So tell me about yours. What are you doing to prepare?

eWOW I am green with envy.

I was told by the lady I got mine from they lay March to July and she got 35-50 eggs per female. I am in WV just south of Pittsburgh Pa.

Were are you located? Is it warm in Dec?

Oh Ok I see you are in Louisiana. I am a newbie

but was told to put some straw out for them in the duck house and they will build nests and lay in the straw.

I too am waiting to see what I need to do to prepare for eggs.

We are in GA, were in AL. Not as far south as LA, but ours start laying in Feb/March usually.

Last year mine started in November. I'm really hoping they at least wait until February this year. We started finding eggs and had mama's sitting on eggs mid November. Mine had started mating in September and I was freaking out. They stopped though and they're back to just being lazy. Thank goodness!

Mine started in January - her first season. It lasted until June.

And she started laying again in September. I'm wondering if she'll keep on until June again?

Mine started in Early December and lasted till mid april. I'm in central texas

Ours usually start late February or March, we've got a little time yet before we need to gear up for eggs
