I have 3 leghorn mixes that are 18 weeks old.

I'm just wondering if someone can give me an idea based on the leghorn breed.

Will they start laying soon?

Thanks.

With it being in the middle of the winter, it might be later unless you add some light in the coop. Mine were about 25 weeks.

So by spring the should be getting ready to lay? Sweet!

Leghorns can lay as early as 17 wks. Mine layed at 20....a medium hard shell white egg. She laid daily from the first but size increased daily and now a month later she is laying lg eggs. I do use a string of xmas lites in her coop. All u need is the light of 1 candle to maintain a leghorns production thru winter. I use it to give light for 14 hrs.

My 18-week old Leghorn laid her first this morning! It's rather small but it's so adorable! Nice and white. I was thinking how it was a little early for her to be squatting for me, but I guess not!
