Tired old Rooster
Songster
So, a little over 24 hours after the first arrival, by my guess, I was able to see three little fluff balls in the nest with Spindly.
Due to the nature of the cage setup, I can't get a really good look at what is going on, without unscrewing my eyeballs and holding them out on a stick.
Hopefully by late tomorrow afternoon, everybody will have hatched.
If Spindly decides to clear out and run her brood around and there are still eggs in the nest, I will try to candle them and put any hopeful ones in the nest that Twiggy is sitting in. If I have it right, then by late Monday or Tuesday, someone should hatch under her.
Once that is settled, I can go to phase two. Dealing with Henrietta behaving like the drunk aunt at thanksgiving, convinced the family children are conspiring against her. Hopefully Galoot will continue helping to keep her from falling right off her trolley, while providing chicks of all three broods with someone large to hide behind.
Please hold thumbs that it all works out. I may need a drink or six to get to next Friday.
