Just want to let you all know what a huge mess it is when you make a pot of coffee and forget to put the pot under. Thank goodness I only made 6 cups not a full pot. Boy what a mess I had to clean up, and that was the last of the coffee. What a way to start the day!:thIs it Monday??

Were you by chance in a hurry this morning, Erica?

I've done something similar. With our new coffee maker, we have to put a cover on the coffee grounds basket. I forgot one day, and coffee and grounds were everywhere. We grind our own beans, so the mistake was a bit more costly losing some precious beans.

Or if you set everything up but don't set the timer and DH decides to help w/o checking under the lid to see if the new coffee and filter are in place which means everything is ready to go and pours another whole pot of coffee into the maker. Then yells there is something wrong with the coffeemaker.
I think he is finally trained though to look first.

Ugh, we've done it too. Or DH will not have the thing that holds the filter and coffee closed quite right so it doesn't line up with the hole for the pot. Something he'd done on occasion has caused the coffee to end up in the pot with lots of grounds in it. If I'm not awake enough, I may not realize I need to strain it before I drink it. Bleh

I forgot to put the pot under couple weeks ago, AND it was when the washing machine was broken so I couldn't even wash the towels I had to use to clean it up!!
