I had ordered some hatchery chicks. I have 2 buff brahmas. Both were supposed to be hens. I think one is a roo. This isn't a problem. He has a larger comb and larger and darker feathers on his feet. I know they are supposed to mature slower than the others but will he still crow at the same time any other roo? He is turning 11 weeks old. And, if he starts to crow will it be as loud as my Dominique?

Ours crowed just short of 20 wks.

Be careful, he caught me with my back turned, scooping their breakfast scratch in the dark at 6 am. Oh yes it was a conspiracy.

Then nothing for several days. Crowed again Friday am. DW got him to crow last evening as we were going out to dinner. Nothing today, that I heard.

I wouldn't say his crow is loud. It is distinctive, very deep throated but not obnoxious. I can live with it.
