When should i change my bedding

Just read it... very detailed and helpful thank you so much i just to find how i can apply it to my coop with the resources i have . Thanks alot😁😁

Deep Bedding is easier in a larger coop because having a larger volume of bedding you can go longer between changes. Some people only clean out annually or, perhaps, spring and fall.

Though it can mean a VERY large job to do all at once.

I scoop the poop out of my 4x8 coop every day. My four chickens have been in that coop since last May, and I've never taken out all of the bedding. It doesn't smell at all, unless someone has just dropped a fresh cecal poop. Then I know to watch where I step.

My husband was surprised at the lack of smell. He has a much keener nose than I do.

How many birds?
Post pics of your coop?
535 chickens

Yeah dat was the initial plan but it looked a lil too much dropping thats what got me confused i will take it put when i sell a the current batch and b4 i get the nxt batch.. maintaining is alot let alone changing the whole thing

At that scale you might need the assistance of machinery to handle the bedding, but deep bedding works so well in commercial chicken operations that most chicken farmers here in the US use some variation on the system.

In your situation I'd change the bedding when it gets wet or when it develops an odor that isn't fixed by adding another layer of bedding.
