When should I worm?

Good for you that you are asking questions to gather information before you make a decision about worming; there are a many considerations to be taken into account before coming to your own conclusion. Always remember that there are many different and valid ways to keep chickens and whether or not to worm your chickens is completely your decision to make. As long as you have all the facts first, no choice that you make will be wrong. Pay no attention to anyone who suggests otherwise. Here is a blog post from a practicing, chicken veterinarian on worming. I hope it helps in your decision-making!

My babies are almost 7 weeks old and still not outside!!

But they will be by this weekend because we finally have everything ready. So my question is... When should I worm them? What other types of medicines should I give them? What would you recommend to have on hand for emergencies?

Great info. It is something I have never even really thought of. I deworm my dogs on a regular basis. Never thought of it for chickens though. I'll have to keep this info in mind!
Cheap and easy way to deworming both dogs and chickens is by putting diatomaceous earth in their food. All natural, and it's full of vitamins and minerals.
