I have 8 eggs in my incubator, we are now on day 22. My first chick hatched yesterday, 26 hours after pip. 4 more have pipped but 2 of those are nearing 24 hours. This is only my second time incubating and last time they were all much shorter from pip to hatch. What is going on? How long should I let them go before assisting? My humility has been maintained at 70-75% during lockdown. Thank you!

Give them at least until Tomorrow, if they don't start hatching by then, then you can help. Some of them maybe slow like a couple I've had, they waited almost 2 days to hatch.

i agree leave them alone mine all hatched within 30 hours after first pip. I know is brain racking you want to get in there thinking i need to help heart beating fast, but then all of sudden as you stand there you see them start moving the broken pieces, i like to sit at the window and gently cluck cluck cluck like a broody that really gets them going.

I make peeping sounds like a baby chick which also helps.

Thank you so much for the advice! The egg that pipped the longest ago (25+ hours) is a turken and last time I had only one turken egg in my batch and he was the only one to die mid-hatch, almost fully zipped. It happened in the middle of the night and now I’m paranoid about my 3 turken eggs! I do think I had a humidity issue last time but my humidity has been really hight this time around.

Now we are 26 hours in, egg has looked about the same since last night. Still wait?!
