when to change from chick starter to other foods

i need to know when to change from chick starter to other foods.have some ten weeks old eating cracked corn and crumbles

From what a quite a lot of folks tell me, you use starter until the first egg is laid and then use layer feed.
I suppose it's always better to be safe then sorry in this aspect so that's what I'm going to do, anyhow. But then I'm sort of an overprotective ninny at times

Cut out the cracked corn. Chicken feed has all the corn in it that they need. By adding the extra corn you will make those birds fat and could cause them troubles later on.

Switching feeds really depends on the brand you are using. Read the bag and follow their directions.
 
wes i cant get over how smart you are i really need to ask one of my rhode island reds just started laying and i was wondering if i should leave the eggs and see if she will go broody or take them if you could help that would be great.
