When to Cull a BCM Rooster and Should I breed first?

That whole Buddy Buddy part is much of the problem. You would have less trouble if you simply walked right at him if he is in your way and make him move out of the way. I cant say it always works, but it sure increases the odds. I would not cull a very nice rooster for being a little on the mean side especially in the breed you name. Good breeding birds are hard to come by. I have only "offed" one bird for meanness in quite a few years of keeping chickens. He was not much of a bird to begin with and mean in addition he did not stay very long.

I simply don't let an 8 lb animal trouble my 1/8 of a ton frame. I feel I have a slight advantage.

Sorry to hear it - my most typey FBCM cockerel is aggressive, but he keeps his distance from mean. If you had to get rid of him, what would you do - process him? I have 3 I need to find a home for or process...
