Good afternoon all! Just wondering when I should start expecting my first egg.... I have 2 white Leghorns- 8 weeks old, 2 Silkie mixes- 8 weeks (these came from the bantam bin, but are quite large. I was told by a BYC they are probably mixed with Cochin) 1 Black Australorp- 8 weeks (this is Tiny, who is only the size of the younger EEs) and 7 Easter Eggers- 5 weeks old. I can't wait to start collecting eggs! My Grandma is already asking if they are laying yet, lol. She is an avid cake Baker and wants my eggs to make even better cakes. Also, how many eggs should I expect from each? Thank you!

18-26 weeks is when most breeds start to lay.
Leghorns will probably be the earliest layer and also the most prolific...
.....but don't count your eggs before they are in the basket, haha!
