I love developing my own things and making them happen. I am currently working on feeding my chickens my own formula. I just started a mealworm farm, that’s my protein source primarily, and I bowl with a grain farmer on Thursday’s in the winter and can get very affordable corn and wheat in very large amounts. Highly beneficial for cost and the ability to provide my chickens with a feed that I know exactly what’s in it and where it was grown and how it was handled. I don’t want to be too stuck in just a couple grains so I am going to mix a smaller amounts of cooked brown rice, millet, oats, rye or other grains (can pick 1 or use all the different ones your choice) I want a variety even if I am 70% the corn and hard red wheat berries adding a variety will get lots of nutrients from different sources. Below is a file to use if you want to do the same.

Sorry I should have clarified my runaway ADHD brain clearly didn't I noticed a few posts where people talked about wanting to make their own chicken feed for whatever reason and I had a file that they could use and that is what is attached above a chicken feed recipe file that will help you build a chicken feed recipe for your chickens. It has a cost tab that will help you see what that will cost based upon what you can get those products for.

remember back when I had my cute little hobby farm and had such a cutesy lil flock …. 😂😂then wham bam thanks maam I got 80 acres and I dont know how many birds I have now…. Legit I dont . I go through a half a bag of food a day and a 9x13 corn cake on top of that and goodies. Whew I cant make my feed anymore . Too many mouths to feed.
