when to expect (hope for) peahen to lay

    In Kentucky zone 6, when would we expect a peahen to start to lay.

    I'm in Tennessee, and mine usually dont start laying untill late April or May

    yep April-May. though I have heard of some laying in January, so depends largly on the hen, also age! They will not produce in most cases until 2 years old and usually arent fertile til 3 years, unless you have an older male with them.

    May, if india should lay at 2 yrs old. sometime yearling hens will lay.

    All 2 yr old india hen should lay, and if with 2yr old or older peacocks will be fertile.

    Greens or high % spauldings hen need to be 3, but some may lay at 2 yr.
