when I bought my 6 girls they were running wild. no roost or coop. 3 have just stared to lay. ive kept them in there run and coop for about 3wks.wanting them to enjoy my back yard a good half acre. do you think they will come back at evening to roost. iam sure they will find enough goodies in yard so they wont come back for food. or will they just back to roost. maybe more time? they also had wings cut short so roosting in small trees will no be a problem

They will most likely return to roost and to supplement their diet; it's unlikely they will find enough to eat on their own. I'm not sure I would free range them without supervision with their wings clipped, though, as this makes it harder for them to get away from predators.

thanks for the come back. will let them out soon. will do in the evening before there bed time and keep an eye out just in case
