When to give up hope?

Rookie question. I'm hatching my first batch of eggs. I started unexpectedly after a dog killed much of my flock. I put all 16 eggs that I had on hand in the incubator. Since I didn't plan on hatching them, they'd just been stored on the countertop at room temperature. Some were fresh that day but some were probably a couple weeks old.

Come hatch day 8 healthy chicks hatched. That was three days ago. The other 8 eggs haven't popped and don't seem to be moving around at all.

Finally the question. I have another 24 eggs ready to go just as soon as the incubator is free. Is there any point in continuing to wait and hope that the 8 eggs still in the incubator will hatch?

Yes. Day 10 and again at lockdown. They looked viable at both of those points in time.

This is day 6 of lockdown if that helps. Temp to stable at 100 and humidity has been right at 72 percent consistently.
