When to help after 24 hours

I just had this same thing happen with my duckling on thursday. It was a night mare. It was born breach. Actually pipped from the entire wrong end of egg AND his leg over head AND the yolk was not absorbed. I am still sick over it...
Poor thing :( Did she look correctly positioned in the egg?

Just for future reference, avoid a wet paper towel, as that can chill chicks. Instead just keep the membrane moist with coconut oil or bacitracin like it says in that article I posted earlier.

When you say coconut oil, does that mean that thick white paste you can buy or an actual oil? Or can that paste be heated and melt (not sure if it does that)

Actual coconut oil that you can buy in a store. It is solid at room temp but melts as soon as you start to apply it to the membrane.
