When to help with a hatch?

Today one of my turkeys pipped at about 12:00 noon. It still has not made it very far. How long should I wait before helping? Or should I not?

There is a great long thread about helping. Search the hatching thread to find it. Lots of support for helping, when to help, when not too. Really expert advice.

From what I remember, it's too early to help right now. I have only hatched a few chickens but they take up to 24 hours between pipping and zipping. They are resting and absorbing the yolk. So 'helping' them out too soon can hurt them. They need the time to absorb the yolk and get ready for the big push.
