How long do baby chicks need to stay in the brooder? They will go from the brooder to the great outdoors.

It depends on your chicks and the weather. I brood outside. If you're having warm temps, by the time they are fully feathered or maybe six weeks old you should be able to put them out in the run full time. What breeds?
 
The hen is a Golden Comet. The rooster is a mixed large breed. He is pictured below.

I'd brood straight outside..skip the indoors.
 
Our chicks are almost 3 weeks old-its crazy how fast they grow feathers!
I've been putting them outside in a temporary small fenced area with their food and water during the day, I carry them out in a tote...then put them back in their brooder on the porch overnight. They have a mama heat pad inside a box in case they get cold. They LOVE it outside!
