My neighbor has 3, four week old kaki Campbell's that she's getting rid of because she has too many other animals and doesn't have the space. She keeps them in her basement under a heat lamp and said she was told not to put them outside until its at least 65 degrees at night. My boyfriend is taking them for his farm and he has a small shed outside that he's gonna keep them in (with the heat lamp on them) is this okay? It's gonna be in the 40s this week and the 50s next week during the night is this still too cold for the ducklings with a heat lamp? He doesn't have a basement so he has no way to keep them inside.

At 4 weeks, ducklings should easily be able to do 70 degrees and if they have been exposed to outside, can do lower temps, but since it seems like these guys have only seen the basement and a lamp, they will still likely need supplemental heat at night for a bit.
