guess I gotta post something silly since my BYC is now treating my old account like a new account.

anyway...got 5 new chicks...will have to decide when/how to move them into the existing flock in a few weeks.

When I’ve done this in the past I made a pen where the older and younger flocks can see each other but can’t get to each other. Mesh or chicken wire works best. Once they’re almost as big and as fast as the older ones is when i put them together. Do you have roosters? If so i would wait a bit longer.

I've got a cheap TSC coop i'm using as the brooder. I was gonna drag it over next to the main run once they are 2-3 weeks old. Then into the run and let them lose maybe at 6 weeks?

If you're raising them outdoors in line of sight of the adults, and have the space/clutter to let the chicks hide or run from the adults as needed, you can try integrating them sooner. I started letting my last batch of chicks mingle with adults at 3 weeks.
