When To Put Nesting Boxes In Coop

I have 9 12 week old pullets (4 barred rock, 3 Isa Brown, 2 Buff Orpington) and was wondering when I should put their nesting boxes in the coop. I was told to hold off with placing them until they are closer to laying age. Any insight would be appreciated.

I will leave the final determination to the exerts .... but I have 16 week barred rocks, comets, cinnamon queens and orpingtons. A couple have impressive red and wattles. I just opened up the nesting boxes this week with dummy eggs. Lots of feathers and interest. No actual eggs yet.

Are they roosting reliably? If so it's probably fine to put them in now, or you could wait a couple week still if you wish.

Your buffs will come in last. They’ll be 26-28 weeks at POL.
