when to put the chicks out in Tennessee!

When they're fully feathered is the easy answer. I wait until they seem fine with the nighttime temps w/o heat before even thinking about it. I've got some 10-11 week olds that are about to get kicked out of the barn as soon as I know where I'm going to put them -- they probably could have been moved 1-2 weeks ago.

I wait until they are fully feathered and then I put a heat lamp in the coop just incase they want to get under it at night...I hatched mine out in Oct and put them out in the coop in the winter...they did just fine with the heat lamp at night.

I received my chicks on April 11th of last year. The started in a shed with a heater and heat lamps the first week. By week 2 1/2 they were living on the screened porch with a draft guard and two heat lamps. They did just fine.

Thanks everyone!
