when to set up nests?

my chicks are 15 weeks.
when should i start putting straw in the nest and fake eggs?

I put mine out at about 17 weeks. I got my first egg at 19 weeks. They didn't bother the nesting boxes, but a couple got in and practiced because I'd find the shavings pushed around and feathers in them.

Mine are 17 weeks now. I better get ready, I did put extra straw in the nesting box today, should I find a fake egg?

I have those metal nesting boxes and so I've had them in the coop the entire time. My Chickens are in and out of the nests daily, sometimes I have 3-5 chickens in a nest at one time, they are crazy! Soo I think I'll wait to add hay until 16-17 weeks or when I see an egg!

I think any time now would be good, then they have a little time to get used to them, also they like to sleep in them

Also i would add straw or wood chips right when u put them up because they might poop in them and it might be hard to clean
