My chicks are being raised in my bathroom right now until it gets warmer out. Than they will move outside. My house stays around 70 or higher degrees all the time. The chicks will be 1 month old on sat. Could I take the light away now? I don't want to do it to soon. If they need it I will leave it.

How do I do this? Turn it off during the day and on at night? Or vice versa?

start raising it up so they get less and less warmth from it and even turn it off for a few hours at time when you can supervise to make sure they respond positively.

So long as they are sufficiently warm you can start turning the lights out at night any time.

My lights also provide the heat so I don't turn them out until a week or so before I'm ready to take them out of the brooder.
