My 9 month old , 3 of them, finally started laying. THEY ARE SMALL sized eggs. When will the eggs get larger, or won't they. I want to sell some, but im think it would be better to sell larger eggs, right?

What breeds do you have? Some breeds lay large eggs and some breeds lay smaller.

Yes, the do start off laying smaller eggs with young pullets and that way they don't get egg bound (fire in the hole).

my breed are rhode island reds they are 9 mmonths old. unless you count the l welsummer that is not laying

Usually it takes about a month for a new layer to get it's body to work out all the kincks. They tend not to lay every day at first. Eggs are small. Sometimes not in the nesting box. Sometimes it takes a long time sitting in the nesting box. All these things should get better soon.

I have 3 - 9 month old rhode islands reds that have justb started laying. And l welsummer, that is older, do not know how old, since we bought AT poultrty auction. And am wondering if the welsummer is still goiong to lay, since it has not since the spring 09. The other welsummer, was eaten by hawk, a month ago. I want to add to my flock
