hi sorry to alarm with the "HELP" in the title. today is day 19 for me and I'm on lockdown. when will i start to hear chirping from inside of the shell. i know that the answer will be, when they make an internal pip, but do you think you could give me an approximate answer as to when that may be. if it helps, last night the temp was 97 for about 7 hours so it might be a day or so late hatch right?

thoughts?

No need to worry they should have survived and hatch on time. I've hatched a number of times and they always chirp on the 21 day (the day they are supposed to hatch). A mother hen is not always accurate so the eggs are used to a few temperature changes. Good luck on your hatch! Tell me how it turns out.

It could be anywhere from day 19 to even day 22 it all depends on the determination of the chick, it will come out when its ready, u can usually hear them start to chirp from around day 18 or 19 keep me posted

:)

Also if you ordered eggs in the mail it may take longer to hatch. Don't throw them out.

thanks, its day 19 though and still no chirping. on lockdown, they were all moving. do you think that i will hear anything later on today?

You might, If your lucky. Mine are currently on day 20 and I have heard no chirping yet, but I candled them yesterday and everyone is moving. There is no exact science to it. :)

If u listen closly u might be able to hear something but the chick is at the this stage at the minute (pic below
