When will my pullets begin to lay???

I have 5 silkies, they are all about 5 months old, and i was wondering when they might begin to lay. Will they show any signs? Thanks for any help!

Silkies normally start laying around 7-9 months of age. They generally lay an average of 100 eggs per year. ( some times more or less depending on stress and temperatures) They do go broody often so if you have any eggs you want to be hatched just slip them under one of them.

When they are going into lay, they will "play house" meaning they will pretend to lay eggs, and take care of chicks, sometimes rooster will play with them!
