Either my Bantam Cochin, or Silkie's, started laying this week, they are almost 7 months old. I have this breed for their broodiness. When should they start sitting on the eggs? So far there are only 2 eggs in the nest box.

Oh ok, thanks. Should I just incubate these first eggs? My Silkies and Cochin started laying 2 or 3 months later than my other breeds.

If you're wanting one to go broody you can leave the eggs in the nest for a week at a time...that way if they want to go broody the eggs will be there and if they don't they'll still be fresh enough to put in the bator.
