When will they start laying??

I have a couple females that hatched last summer (june) and they still haven't started laying yet. I was starting to believe that maybe they had a hidden nest somewhere, but i checked their vent are an only one finger fits between both pelvic bones, so I know for sure they haven't started yet. I can fit three fingers between the pelvic bones of my best laying chickens, and two on my moderate laying, older chickens. I can even fit two fingers between the bones on my bantams!

I can't figure out why they haven't started laying yet. They are free range, as well as have a feeder, there are two waterers in the coop, and they get around 13-14 hours of daylight now and we've been in 80 degree weather the last week so it's not cold. The ducks and the chickens and the quail are laying, and have been since January and Feb. I just don't understand why these guineas aren't laying yet

No male Guineas? That may be a contributing factor. Some of my girls do not start laying unless the males are breeding them frequently. Other Hens lay when they are ready no matter how much they get bred, lol.

I have 2 new flocks of young pullets (and cockerels) from last year's hatches that have not started laying yet either... and typically my pullets always start laying first, but not this season. Weird winter, weird laying season I think... I'd keep watching them, could be any time. And be sure to provide Oyster shell free choice for them.

Well Im glad Im not the only one with non laying guineas. A lot of other people I know have guineas that are laying already. I have 2 males and 4 females if that matters, they do have Oyster shell, it's in their layer mash.

Found something today! And I found it rightfully laid in the nest box! I know it's a guinea egg because it's so pointy and has a bit of wrinkles on the shell( i don't know why their eggs tend to have that) But it's the first one of the year and I'm happy!

Too funny, I found 2 eggs from a couple of my Guinea Pullets yesterday too.

Wrinkles happen, lol. It's normal to see some weird eggs when they first start laying. Sometimes it takes a few eggs before their systems are working like they should.
