When you quarantine a new bird, what exactly are you looking for?

I don't have a dog crate and I am not about to go buy one for this one time use. I am going to see if my husband can maybe throw something together for me with some scrap wood and some hardware cloth.

From what I've seen on these boards it seems like a lot of chickens don't have access to water at night because it is in their run. Is that right or am I mistaken? I just want to be sure she will be ok if she doesn't have water at night.

Mine have access to water 24/7 but I am sure that they would be ok over night without water.

I keep my water in the run, I don't think the get up once it is dark she should be fine as long as she can get to the water in the morning which is when they are the most thirsty. Good luck.

Indeed birds are pretty much blind at night so they wont be up to drink anyway.

Anything will work for an isolation place. Even an overturned laundry basket with a brick on the top.
