when your chicks arrive in the mail - does the PO call you?

This was the first time we ordered chicks so I called our rural PO on the Thursday before they were to arrive and gave them my phone number so they could call as soon as they arrived, but we got a call on Saturday from the post office in the larger city where the mail goes before it comes to our rural PO saying that the chicks had arrived there. They said we could pick them up there or they would be delivered on Monday, so hubby and one of the boys drove the 20 minutes or so to pick them up right away.

I ordered form MM last spring and told my local postoffice they were coming but the big PO in Salina called on Sunday saying I could pick them up there but I was gone all day so they were sent to my local post office and I went and picked them up there on Monday.

This fall when I ordered form MPC I told my local PO but was ready if the Salina one called and they did and I drove the 90 miles to pick them up so they weren't in transit another day.
