In my family, when you turn 8 you start an instrument. You are aloud to pick what ever you want within reason. So I play violin, my sister piano, my brother cello, my other brother guitar, my other sister is going to start mandolin and the rest are too small to know what they want yet. Then my mom plays flute and guitar and my dad plays piano, ukulele, and trumpet.

As far as music goes, I'm known far better for my persistence than for any shape or form of "talent" whatsoever but I do seem to be able to convince people that I know a little bit about piano and violin, at least some of the time anyway...

I mostly play classical and sacred music.

Howdy ya'll. I'd love to know who plays an instrument and what that/those instrument(s) is/are! If you could play another what would it be?
I'll go first. I play the violin and i've been playing for about 7-8 years now. My favorite things to play are bluegrass/Celtic and classical. I'd love to pick up the banjo someday when time allows.That or the urheen, but that may be a bit hard considering i don't live in China.

Other instruments (as in I haven't touched one of them in years ), Viola and Recorder. Yep that's right, I picked the two most mocked instruments
I've never had lessons on either of them so I am basically just self taught and not that spectacular with them.
Also know how to play violin, but haven't played one since changing to viola.

My cousin plays Viola. As a violinist i have mixed feelings, BUT, they do sound really nice.
i've never heard of a violist changing to a violin, only violinists going to viola so that says something.

Yees. I too play the recorder and fiddle around (no pun intended) on my brother's viola sometimes just for fun.
