Where are the best cuckoo marans?

I am setting up an additional coop & henhouse and want to get quality birds. I want my son to show with 4H and to get some of the beautiful chocolate eggs.
Is there a breeder of great cuckoos?
Should I go to MCM?
I am sure there is better quality/health birds but where/who?

McMurray's is a giant hatchery - those are bred for faster sales and would not be show quality birds. There are lots of sellers here on BYC - you should browse the archived auction section and look at the quality marans sellers on there. I've got them altho right now, because of the time of year they aren't laying much. I don't know what the rules are for 4-H, but Marans aren't accepted by the APA. They could be used for showmanship classes I would think.
