After watching a VERY sad rescue video, I would like to save some battery hens and give them a place to live out their lives comfortably.

How do you get them?

i had to ddo some digging with google, here are a couple links to get started- looks like contacting your local humane society could be a start too-

http://www.brittonclouse.com/chickenrunrescue/ this one i had to reload it to get it to load-

1. Send a message to [email protected] to subscribe to the Chicken Run Rescue Adoption Chronicles. The Chronicles contain a link to our Petfinders site at http://www.chickenrunrescue.petfinder.org where you will find personality profiles and photos of the birds who are currently available for adoption.

here is an ex-battery hen forum-
http://exbatteryhens.com/index/

hope those get you started- easy to find info in the UK, harder here in the US.

I don't think that PDF was entirely accurate. I have never bought a coop for over $2000!

Last year we had to get a vet to do impacted crop surgery for one of our hens. It was thirty dollars. That was our flock vet bill.
