Where did everyone get their chicks from?

Ordered mine from McMurray in Feb..I checked out the breeds that TSC can supply but they didn't have Banty's and that's what we wanted.

My neighbor gave me my first 2 bantams. I bought my cochins from the feed store.

I just saw an ad in our local shopper about having chicks of all kinds, wonder if they have any silkies?

Feed Stores...

First one (Rural King) buys from Cackle Hatchery. They got a straight run mix, birds have all been very healthy.

Second Purchase(and Third and Fourth) came form another feed store that buys from Townline Hatchery. (Got Auracanas(sp? actually Easter Eggers), ISA-Browns, RIR and some Cornish Crosses, oh and a Turkey). Lost 1 Cornish Cross, 1 Auracana has a crossed beak, others are fine... In all bought 25 birds from them... 24 alive though 1 deformed.

I am interested in Meyer Hatchery if their are any comments, they seem to be lower priced, I am curious how they preform... may need more meat birds...

I get mine from a couple of feed stores I frequent. I like to be able to view the varieties and choose then and there and be able to take em home.

BoilerJoe -I purchased mine from Townline as well (in Michigan) I picked mine up there -did you get them shipped or do a pick up? Mine are only 4 days old, but all seem fine.

I got mine from MM back in February, all 21 arrived alive, lost only one due to vaccination reaction.
Then I ordered more from Ideal, again all arrived alive.
Good experience with both hatcheries.

Got mine from a local feed store. Used to go in and look all the time and finally took the jump. I know everyone doesn't have a local place to go to,but I have heard good things about McMurray too. I am lucky to have a couple of locals to buy from.

The chickens I ordered from McMurray arrived healthy, stayed that way and were beautiful examples of their breeds.

I ordered mine from mypetchicken.com but they won't be here until the end of the month. I too wanted sexed bantams - no roos and they can do that. Traci is the best customer service person you will ever talk to. She answered so many of my questions and has been so nice. I can't wait to get my babies.

Ordered from Cackle Hatchery. Their customer service was wonderful--I called to confirm the shipping date, and they pulled my order up right away, no problems, everything went exactly as they said it would. All chicks arrived fluffy, peeping and in good health. I explained that I wanted only the breeds I had in my order, so my bonus chick was also a Buttercup.
