I'm hoping for that long fall and short easy winter as well!

I'm starting my kids back in another week also. I don't know who is dreading that worse. Me or the kids!

UGH! I started school last Wed. I'm already starting my first english assignment/paper. But for some reason, I'm glad it started. I'm glad to see my friends again, plus it gives me something to do. And FYI... I'm 15... just so nobody gets confused

It went by in a blink! Or rather, August did. June and July went by at a crawl because I was so eager for the gathering from another website I belong to at the end of July/beginning of August in Kentucky. Now that it's over

Even the plants in the garden now Autunm is around the corner as they are starting to die back, all my tomato plants have lots on but no sun to make them ripen! boo hoooooo.........Paradise, sunny days and rain at night, perfect temperature 70 degrees, oh yes.......starts to think where I put the hot water bottles for winter beds.......hey ho:D

YEP, full trees are in color here, temps are 40's in am, afternoon temps are in high 60's low 70's. North winds, tomatos are still green, woodstove is not hooked up yet (at least the wood is in) like the outdoors but cant take the cold now that I am older. Camping is over, kayaking is over, swimming is over. 6 months of cold and snow to look forward to.

It seems as if my daughter just got out for summer vacation and now its time to go back! Its been very cool here at night the past couple of nights, it was 46 on the thermometer this morning. But it was a beautiful day with low humidity in the 70s. I also noticed the colors changing on the "river road". It just gets more spectacular as we move into fall.
But I dont know where summer went either, we didnt have much of one this year.

I'm sort of glad summer is almost over. Food is stuffed into the freezer, heat is cut, split and stacked. Life slows down for us. We get to get out and "play" by hiking and biking. When the snow comes, snowshoeing. There is nothing like humping to the top of a snow covered mountain and the only tracks you see are yours and your wife's. And that cup of hot tea is one of the best. Then there is the quietness and stillness which is something else. When it's all over, you are warming up in front of the wood stove and realizing how old you are. Did I also mention "Motrin" our friend.
