I so agree with you! We have six EE and they are very friendly birds, however we have one that insists on flying out of the run about every day!

I'm in the process of covering the run with chicken wire, just to keep them in. Even if they don't escape, they sit on the fence and poop on my sidewalk! Which is why there's a run!

I just spent the weekend building a coop. My opinion thus far is that chicken wire is the most evil material in the world to work with. My arms are shredded and I have frayed little holes in my pants.

I thought I lost an Ameraucana hen one day about three weeks ago, finding out she was under my porch hatching chicks. Now I have seven baby Ameraucana chicks with one very proud and protective mamma!And welcome to Back Yard Chickens!!!
