I may be wrong, but I believe easter eggers CAN lay tan eggs

Just binged this whole thread. So awesome you rescued them, and getting those first eggs is awesome. Some of my girls are finally starting to lay. Woohoo!

Just had lunch with them. We had a bacon cheeseburger and...and...CHICKEN FINGERS! Ugghhhh...I got a little woozy while I fed my chickens....chicken. That cannibalism stuff just freaks me out...

LOL My chickies have gotten leftover chicken. And eggs... My family, specifically my kids, are a little grossed out over it, but they'll eat it and enjoy it. and its protein...

I'm with your kids! lol I haven't done the scrambled egg thing yet. That I think will bother me even more..."Here, eat your children..." I get the heebie-jeebies just thinking about it.

Chickens are omnivores and it’s totally ok for them to eat mice, rats, snakes, etc.

It's okay, really...eggies are eggies. I was just anticipating the day Fancy took to the nest boxes. Today was the day! I never saw a colored egg so I was a little excited. Then...*plop*...out comes a brown egg. My elation totally deflated like an untied balloon...

I like fried chicken. So when I get some, I usually remove most of the fried skin. (lower my oil fat intake) I take the remains to my girls and literally say,,,, "here you are you LIL CANNIBALS" they wolf it down and fight for it. As to eggs. When I find surprise eggs, some that were laid in secrecy, I boil up the batch and chop up shells and all in a dish and feed back to them. I also use the same line. Not sure if they understand , but never object to eating.
