Where did they come from???

Was a member here a while back that is a deer hunter. She used to process her deer, and throw the carcass into the chicken/turkey pens. They will totally pick the bones clean! I haven't had the guts (or the desire) to try it yet. :sick

caveman - I laughed out loud "you little cannibals". :lau

Truth is they are prehistoric little beasts
I raise these. Supposedly ancestors to my other chickens. They do not lay very frequently.

Omgosh, beautiful! :love

Thank you :) He's too big for a serama but I'm breeding him to the smaller ladies and any frizzled daughters from him will be bred back to my tiny little serama roo. Then he will retire and join the main flock and live out his life as yard candy lol

My dog would be highly insulted if I gave my deer carcasses to the chickens.

Just binged this whole thread. So awesome you rescued them, and getting those first eggs is awesome. Some of my girls are finally starting to lay. Woohoo!
Frazz glad you joined us....

I had an owl attack last night and lost one of my chickens who refused to go into her shelter at night. Found the dead chicken, head and body separated with dead owl in the middle. turkey's were enjoying the early morning meal.
