I had an owl attack last night and lost one of my chickens who refused to go into her shelter at night. Found the dead chicken, head and body separated with dead owl in the middle. turkey's were enjoying the early morning meal.

what killed the owl?

I've had a LOT of migrating hawks lately, but they won't tangle with the turkeys. Had four of my young Toms take flight to chase them off a week or so ago, that was amazing to watch. 3 pound hawk, 15 pound Toms... My big/adult Toms don't fly anymore, but they can jump 7-8 feet into the air...
