Where did they come from???

Just a warning. If you use a dog crate in the run to break her, that will not be predator proof unless your run is predator proof. A coon will easily reach into a dog crate, grab the hen, drag her to the wire, and eat her through the wire.

How soon do you intend to have your new coop finished? (Best/worst case time scenario?) Go with the worst, and make your decision based on that.

pretty simple take eggs give them to her wait 20 to 21 days it will drive you crazy if your able to move her so as to ward off others better they might not be so kind to babies
she can stay in the coop please leave her there plywood 3 ft temp walls in a corner

Don't feel alone... WE ARE HERE TO CARRY YOU.:highfive:'' Let her sit on fresh new eggs. Then when you think you have the amount correct. Like 3 dozen.:gig, Mark those and let her incubate. Reason for marking, is so you can remove new eggs that may appear in nest. Take those unmarked eggs and of course eat them.

prior to the hatch move her box putting little shield between her and others as other hens may get nasty so can a rooster
The nest boxes are basically one box with 3 fixed sections. I can't move it. She chooses the center box to sit. I unfortunately don't have much room in this current coop...which was why I was building a larger one. I had thoughts of keeping this current coop for hatching purposes in the future.

Should I mark each little batch as she puts them under her? I can get a max of 4 eggs right now. So should I mark the first set of four with a number 1, then the next set with a number 2 so I know which ones she sat on first? How many should I let her sit on? Is there a 100% hatch rate with a hen? Oh...and I'm not buying that 3 dozen amount. :smack

Step 1. can you block off the chosen box so the other hens don't lay in there? when she decides to get off the nest does she have room to dust bath and poop/
Stept 2. mark and add eggs all at the same time so they hatch at the same time.
Step 3. wait 21 days
Step 4 let her out w/babies when she is ready
