I do not know anyone in California, but lots of people ship. Mine are still too young, but they are growing up nicely. They came from a Show Flock, but that doesn't mean that they will be Show Quality. So, you just have to purchase several and cull from there. Not many people want to get rid of their Show Quality Birds, esp if they are big breeders.

Not sure if Kathy Wyckoff in San Diego is still breeding, she used to have an ad in the poultry press.
There are a lot of 4H kids in WI who bought their whites from her, I started my line with a quad from her and a male from Eddy Travers 9 years ago.
Her prices from what I am told where $50 to $150 each depending on what you were looking for.

can also be a great resource for quality birds from breeders.

If you join the ASBC, you have access to a member directory. I just looked through the one from last year and am seeing 28 members from CA. Its not as though they aren't around...
