where do you buy fish meal?

We talked to Jesse's, per your advice, on Saturday. They said they were getting some this week, not part of a special order or anything so I took that to mean it's something they normally stock. Was going to go out there soon to pick it up as I have some business out that way from time to time. We're in the North Bay and even though I called everyone in our are area, nobody carried it. We live near Petaluma and called all the feed stores we know of there, (i.e. hunt and behrons, Rivertown) and they don't have it nor could they order it. I've heard that it's roughly a buck a pound. Thanks for the tip on Jesse's by the way!

Awwww That explains the look she had when I asked for it. LOL

They usually don't carry it, but they will order whatever anyone asks for. If they didn't have it they ordered it. I'm supposed to go talk to her at 1, but not sure I can ,make it yet. Still got to see what they're going to charge for some others. I told her there were people looking, so she knows I've been online and it's people from the site. I did write it on her order sheet for her yesterday. When I asked about it she looked kind of surprised and then handed me a pen to write it down for her. Her and her daughter were running like crazy, just them and that place was crazier than I've seen it in about a year, but then I'm not there everyday and don't just live 3 blocks from it any longer.

You'll like dealing with them. Very helpful. They own 80+ arces and raise their own birds, so they have knowledge too. Not really up on rare breeds, but they have RIRs and Games I know for sure. They may not know all the breeds, but they know what they need and like I said, soooooo helpful.

anyone ever try supplementing feed with fresh or frozen fish or baitfish or ground up chum????? I live near the coastline where there are many baitshops supplying menhaden, pilchards,& sardines which is what processed higher oil fish meal is made from...I always have access to unprocessed frozen small baitfish...we grind up baitfish into chum to attract larger fish with a meatgrinder...seems like it would work for chicken feed....would small 1/8" bones be an issue?
