Where Do YOU Get/Rescue Battery Hens From?

I see so many people on here who would just love to rescue some battery hens, but they can't find anywhere to get them. So, doesn't matter where you live, just post on the thread where the place is located (city, state, country) and what it is called. And if you have to pay for the hens at that place, how much money are they?

I get battery hens from Cal Poly, which is an agriculture college in San Luis Obispo California. The hens are $10 each when not spent, and if they are spent they are $2 each.

I think it is fantastic when people bring home battery hens, giving them another chance at life. I would love to take in battery hens. But as far as I know, there is nothing like this available in New Mexico. :-(

I got mine from a person we know. She isn't a large scale business, so I don't think anyone else can buy them. She only let me take 1 for free, one is better then none though!

I would love to know where to get some in Canada.. I'm in NS but I don't think there are any around here. I know there is a few batteries but not likely that they part with the hens.

Keep in mind that if there are any in your area you probably wouldn't know about it. The farms like to keep themselves hidden from the public.
